Even though I am the seasoned and accomplished mother of 10 amazing children ages 4-23. I know what it's like to struggle as a mother.
I've been called a saint, a rock star, amazing, crazy.......but the truth is, I am just a human being like you, I am a mother. Life is hard. Being a Mother is hard.
I know the highs and lows of being pregnant and holding my baby for the first time, maintaining a healthy pregnancy and lifestyle multiple times, discovering and changing my goals for a natural birth, creating and demanding space for rest and nurturing postpartum, breastfeeding struggles, learning from each of my babies and children about meeting their needs biologically and individually, setting a foundation where mom and dad are harmoniously aligned together.
I know what it's like to tirelessly research and advocate for my family, live through chronic health issues, not be able to even get out of bed in the morning, dial 911, give a child the Heimlich, watch my children suffer and make mistakes, watch my children watch me suffer and make mistakes.
I know what it's like to shut yourself in a room or go for a drive just to get some peace and quiet. I know what sleepless nights feel like and viruses that drag on for weeks, meals that don't turn out right, fights that don't end well, tears that flow until you fall asleep.
I know the struggles of home schooling and sending your children to school, of watching your children through each stage of childhood and learning right along with them, of growing and changing through the years as a person, as a mother.
I know what it's like to have a panic attack, to feel overwhelmed, helpless, anxious, defeated and like a failure, to feel judged, to lose family and friends, to go through a divorce.
The GOOD, the BAD, and quite frankly the UGLY of it all.
. . . . . .The seasons of life that can sweep you off your feet onto CLOUD 9 onto that mountain top experience or quite literally sweep you off your feet and FLAT ONTO YOUR BACK into the valley!
I know what's it's like to struggle. But struggle doesn't have to mean defeat, It just means we are human and we need each other. God created us as a people to be in community with each other.
HENCE, MOTHERING the MOTHER!
One thing I have embraced well through the years is SUPPORT and COMMUNITY!
Whether you're on that mountain top or down in the valley, don't wait to seek out counsel, support, guidance, nurturing, classes, education, knowledge, and wisdom.
BE PROACTIVE!
EVERY MOTHER NEEDS MOTHERING!
IT IS ESSENTIAL!
IT IS WISE!
Because I have been able to embrace that, it has not only allowed me to experience the goodness more fully but it has allowed me to be successful as a professional mentor, as a birth worker and coach, meeting each person exactly where they are at and MOTHERING THE MOTHER.
Let's talk about that Mountain Top!
I don't want to depress you with talking only about the struggles of motherhood and leave you feeling hopeless. The purpose of this post is for you to EMBRACE MOTHERING and remember you are human so that you can see and experience the many JOYS and BLESSINGS both on that mountain and down in the valley!
Whether you find yourself on that mountain top or down in the valley, you can learn something and grow.
Mountain top experiences are not a place we can live in, the air is thin, space is limited, it's hard work getting there, they are meant to be experiences, an accomplishment, a place where we can look down at everything and take it all in, not live.
But the valley, the valley is hard work too but it is where the river flows, the flowers dance, the air is fresh, there is space for community and nurturing, most days we will find ourselves in the valley, we live there. It's daily life. Some days you will thrive here and some days you will struggle.
I've experienced both in multiple different ways
But, I'll be honest, whether you're on that mountain top or down in the valley, you are more likely to SUCCEED and see the JOYS and BLESSINGS when you actively seek out counsel, support, guidance, nurturing, classes, education, knowledge, and wisdom. Embrace who God created you to be and Embrace community and help.
Because
KNOWLEDGE is POWER!
PERSPECTIVE is KEY!
And WISE COUNSEL is ESSENTIAL! You don't have to be a Professional like myself to help Mother another Mother. Find a friend or create a community of mothers that encourage and uplift each other, that go beyond just Words of Encouragement but help each other in practical and tangible ways.
There are seasons of Mothering that are harder than others and sometimes another mother is barely surviving. That initial Postpartum Season is one major Season that is well overlooked. There is a major gap between what Mothers NEED and what they actually RECEIVE, and families, especially mothers suffer both short and long term because of it.
Why not Step into your Power, embrace some wise counsel and nurturing, and let me Mother you right now through this Journey of Motherhood!
I have been a Mother for 23 plus years and have been working professionally in this field for 22. I have witnessed first hand the weight that is lifted from mothers (and fathers) and the empowerment and confidence they display when they receive a solid foundation of education and support that is biologically sound.
I specialize in Pregnancy, Childbirth, and that first year Postpartum!
I help you to set a solid foundation for Staying Healthy and Low Risk, Understanding all your Options in Healthcare, Good Communication Skills and Advocating for your Family, Creating a Realistic Plan for Birth, Postpartum and Parenting, Preparing for the Unexpected, Effective Coping Skills, Parenting Strategies that line up with the Basic Biological Milestones and Needs of the Mother and Infant/Child......and furthermore providing accountability and tools that you need to not only Learn BUT Succeed and feel Nurtured and Supported on this Journey!
